THE MASS TIMBER BUILDING MOVEMENT: FIRE AND MOLD DEFENSE FACTORY-APPLIED OR ON-SITE MOISTURE DEFENSE

MFB-31-CitroTech™ provides Class A fire defense for raw lumber. It can be sprayed on lumber at the factory or in the field. When it has been applied to all 6 sides of CLT mass timber components, it reduces risk of loss and can lower risk premiums. This also prevents the carbon stored in the wood from being released back into the atmosphere in the event of fire. In this regard, our goal is to create a carbon trade for Mass Timber wood that has been fire defended with CitroTech™.

In addition, MFB-34-MM Gatorskin™, another MFB proprietary product, provides protection against mold, mildew and rot. This formulation addresses the fact that Mass Timber buildings are exposed to rain and/or snow during the construction phase, and precipitation can cause significant degradation to the structural integrity of wood. This is very important to a builder/developer, because they have multi-year trailing liability to a building’s occupants for mold and other issues, which can arise years after a certificate of occupancy has been issued. Regarding mold and related issues:

-Health problems result in a cost of nearly 35 billion dollars a year -The cost of repairing such problems is about 73 billion dollars a year

WILDFIRE DEFENSE SYSTEMS

Our Wildfire Defense Systems target the landscaping vegetation with the safest fire inhibitor chemistry in the U.S. so these magnificent homes can get insured. Our ASTM test results prove when flammable vegetation gets sprayed before the hot embers and fire arrives it reduces its ability to ignite and supports huge risk. What’s makes what we do the best is our accreditation in being safe around children, pets with clean safe chemistry that will not hurt the landscaping or make an ugly mess like foams and gels. We are working with large Insurance Brokers and Underwriters that recognize the applied fire science in our systems that are activated before evacuation.

Sheds are utilized by homeowners to store their valuables. Sheds encourage early evacuation, and sheds are a safer place to store valuables than putting them in the car.

Germany and Canada are among the world’s leaders in annual Christmas tree production. Residents of Great Britain purchase about 8 million trees per year, and over 35 million are sold in the United States.

Christmas tree fires spread quickly: In controlled tests, fire researchers found that a dry Christmas tree can become engulfed in less than 10 seconds. And “flashover” occurs in roughly 70 seconds after an un-watered tree has become ignited.

Firefighters respond to roughly 200 Christmas tree fires per year in the U.S., according to the National Fire Research Laboratory. MFB Christmas Tree Spray is sold in one quart spray bottles; that amount will protect a 7 ft. tall tree. It was purchased by Friedman’s Home Improvement stores in Northern California for sale to its customers in 2022, and it is teed up for WalMart and Amazon for the 2023 Christmas season.

MFB Fire Retardant Spray is a clean, safe, water-based fire inhibitor that is intended for proactive use, not as a fire extinguisher. For example: Spray the backs of curtains that hang over electrical outlets, carpeting or rugs which are near the fireplace, and other combustibles in the home which are at risk of catching fire.
